Hoosier Half Marathon Training, W1D3
Rock steady.
For my records:
Bench 10x45, 8x55, 7x55, 6x55Squat 10x45, 8x55, 8x65, 8x75Assisted pull-up 4x8Weighted lunge 4x850 crunches
I’m starting to get more and more into this whole lifting thing. Because I’ve chosen this as my cross-training for the FIRST plan, however, I think I’m going to have to re-evaluate just how realistic the speediness of the speedwork can be. My legs are going to be fucking toast for at least two of my three runs. And you know, I ain’t mad at it. The dividends I’ll reap from lifting will be worth it, and this half is the goddamn hilliest thing imaginable—a PR was almost certainly always out of the question.
Oh man, I’m digging squats lately. They were always so hard and awkward for me at CrossFit, but they felt right today—perfect back, heels dug in, dropping dat ass below parallel. I felt good and strong and in great form until that last set, but at least I was aware and knew what was going on.
